Mr. Richard Kim is currently a Deputy City Attorney in the Complex and Special Litigations Division of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. He has been with the Office since 2000. In 2008, Mr. Kim was elected to the Wilshire Center-Koreatown Neighborhood Council Board, a City-chartered organization that fosters neighborhood empowerment. In 2012, Mr. Kim, elected as the president of the Neighborhood Council Board, fought against gerrymandering of Koreatown during the redistricting process in Los Angeles. Mr. Kim currently serves on the board of Koreatown Youth and Community Center (KYCC), an organization that serves disadvantaged youths and their families.
Mr. Kim was born in South Korea and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1975. He also attended Southwestern University, School of Law where he received his J.D. Mr. Kim is currently admitted to practice law in the state of California.
“We are pleased to offer our endorsement Richard because of his long record of over 20 years of serving the public during which he has garnered strong support amongst his colleagues as well as city-wide for his accomplishments and, perhaps more importantly, how he has achieved them,” said John Lim, Chair of the Board.
“Richard is well-known in the Los Angeles Korean community for his continuous involvement and support of over 15 years. This is another important reason why KAPA is supporting him,” added Hon. Sukhee Kang, Vice Chair of the Board and former Mayor of Irvine.
